Woohoo! Already 9 countries finished their local contest and you can check some of the uploaded images below.
Most of the local teams started their competition this month and more will join in July. Stay tuned and follow your country’s criteria.
In general, 51 countries\territories are taking part this year and it is a great amount! If your country is not on this list, but you would like to participate, you still have time to prepare! Follow this guideline: https://commons.wikimedia.org/…/Commons:Wiki…/Organise.
In 2023, Wiki Loves Earth international photo contest again supports the initiative WikiForHumanRights, which partners with the Wikimedia Foundation (WMF) and the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR). Its goal is to raise awareness of nature protection and human impacts on nature.
When we protect the environment, we also protect the fundamental human rights we all have — rights to water, life, food, housing, and other fundamental rights that rely on a clean, healthy environment. And this year, we accept photos not only from the countries where the main contest is going but also from the whole world!
Technically, participants would be able to upload images through the “wle-special” campaign.
